Sharon is a skilled, service-oriented Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) for family practice / primary care. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Seattle University where she focused on quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care clinical outcomes. She is a preceptor for nurse practitioner students from the University of Washington, Seattle Pacific University, and Seattle University. Sharon is a take-charge leader with a proven ability to develop and lead quality improvement initiatives and projects resulting in the improvement of patient care enterprise-wide. Her extensive knowledge and skill area focuses on project management and process improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodologies, team building, collaboration, leadership and facilitation.

Shari chose nursing as a career because of her love of science and a deep appreciation for improving the lives of others. One little known fact about Shari is that she seriously considered being a history teacher and coach, instead of going into nursing. She is fascinated with military and war history, especially World War II. Since becoming a project management and process improvement expert as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Shari leads others in improving their team building, collaboration and leadership skills.
Shari is an avid sport enthusiast who loves outdoor activities. During football season, you can find Shari in the 12th Man section of the Seattle Seahawks with all the stats and data for the team. During baseball season, she can be found watching the Mariners.
Shari inspires the love of sports with her entire family. After working hours, she can be found on the sidelines cheering for her son and daughter as they participate in cross country, baseball and soccer. Shari has coached many of their team sports over the years as well as run marathons herself. Sierra, Shari’s golden retriever, often participates in line drills by returning practice balls which have gone astray.
Shari’s fearless attitude is often seen with fun times with her family. She loves Disney parks and the adventures of roller coasters and thrill rides. Here you can see her on a recent trip to Disney World.
Process Improvement for Clinical Application – Process Improvement for Clinical Application is designed to provide healthcare professionals with a basic understanding of process improvement and the healthcare environment. The course will provide an overview of Lean Six Sigma, Quality management, and other tools to improve effectiveness and efficiency in the health care setting. All participants will demonstrate applying these tools.
Suturing: Basic Wound Closure – Suturing is a necessary practical skill for many nurse practitioners. This course is designed to enhance your skill as a practitioner to properly assess and close open wounds. Time will be spent on how to assess a wound, selection of appropriate suturing materials and anesthetics, and practical time on appropriate wound closure techniques. This hands-on skills class includes lecture combined with practical time to apply the skills of suturing.
