Discover methods and techniques to confidently care for a client with challenging behaviors which are emotionally and/or physically abusive towards staff. Learn techniques to identify triggers and redirect behaviors to avoid conflict. Discuss how self-care impacts your responses to these situations and how to protect yourself from burnout. You will review different behaviors by demonstration, discussion and successfully passing the written test.
This program meets the 2018 Washington State DSHS-approved mandatory “Navigating Through Challenging Behaviors” requirement for your caregiving Health Services/ Nursing staff members.
Who Should Attend? All Health Services/ Nursing caregiving staff (RN, LPN, Med Aides, Caregivers, CNA, HCA, NAR and others) in long term care settings.
Registration includes: Attendance at program, program handout, all day coffee, tea, water, a light breakfast and snacks. All supplies are included. Wi-fi is available in the conference center.
