Wound Care topics include general principles of skin anatomy and the stages of wound healing. You will describe the optimal wound healing environment including etiology identification, debridement, moisture balance and wound bed protection. You will practice proper documentation for the three common chronic wound types: Pressure ulcers, stasis ulcers and diabetic ulcers. You will identify nutritional supports for proper wound healing and discuss other treatment modalities that can be considered when wound healing is stalled.
