Rash Decisions: Pediatric Dermatology will outline the most common complaints seen in infants and children – rashes. The etiology of rashes is wide and varied: congenital causes, irritants, infections, and occasionally even harbingers of life-threatening diseases. In this course, you will review basic skin anatomy and outline the vocabulary for describing dermatologic findings, which is the foundation for creating a differential diagnosis. The broad categories of rashes that will be discussed include infectious causes, allergic and inflammatory rashes, and a myriad of others such as drug eruptions and erythema multiforme. This course will be interactive, providing participants with many opportunities to practice describing and diagnosing rashes.
