ECG
Comprehensive Review
Description
Can't
remember what A-Fib looks like or how to read the
12-lead ECG? This class is designed for those seeking
clarification on the basics of ECG interpretation.
This fast paced course is designed to give you an
overview of basic rhythm interpretation and a five
step method in analyzing a 12-lead ECG. It starts
by explaining the basics of cardiac electrophysiology
and moves the learner to the interpretation of the
12-lead ECG.
This
course is designed for those who once learned, or
practiced in a critical environment and wish to refresh
their knowledge of basic cardiac rhythm and 12-lead
ECG interpretation.
Objectives
After
completion of ECG Comprehensive Review the participant
will be able to:
- Describe
the differences between cardiac monitoring and a
12-lead ECG monitoring
- Interpret
the components of an ECG rhythm and their significance
to the cardiac cycle
- Calculate
the rate, rhythm, PR interval, and QRS interval
for various rhythms
- Discriminate
between sinus, atrial, and ventricular dysrhythmias
- Analyze
a 12-lead ECG using a consistent identification
method
- Distinguish
between left and right bundle branch block patterns
on a 12-lead ECG
- Recognize
chamber enlargement on a 12-lead ECG
- Classify
an axis on a 12-lead ECG
- Identify
ECG changes associated with ischemia, injury, and
infarction
- Detect
ECG changes associated with electrolyte abnormalities
and drug toxicities
