The concept for Acute Care Education Associates, Inc. was conceived when a small group of clinicians, working together in the emergency/trauma department of an inner-city level I trauma center, decided that they were going to take action to help prepare registered nurses for the unique challenges of an emergency/trauma practice. Partnering with a local college's workforce training center, these practicing nurses developed, researched, and presented The Comprehensive Emergency Nurse Training Course to rave reviews. Soon the group was being contracted to present The Emergency Nurse Training Course in a variety of formats to accommodate the educational needs and schedules of busy clinicians. Some local hospitals were even coordinating their new employee orientation schedules to coincide with the presentation of the course. The nurse educators knew that the experience and integrity that they brought to The Emergency Nurse Training Course would transfer well to the continuing education needs of nurses from a wide variety of practice backgrounds.

Since the beginning in 1999, the members of Acute Care Education Associates, Inc. have prepared educational offerings that inform, challenge, and humanize the complex realities of contemporary nursing practice.
